I got my Hardfork fix this AM (Kevin Roose and Casey Newton) so between you and them I feel a bit more caught up on the catastrophe or not of Mythos.

Even if Mythos isn’t a big deal now, one day soon we will get models that actually live up to all of the claims people are making about Mythos. OpenAI is rumored to be releasing their Spud model on Thursday (take that with a grain of salt). Since ChatGPT 5.4 Thinking is close to Mythos on the benchmarks people think the next iteration will surpass them. Of course, this is all hype. We’ll have to wait until it’s actually released before we know for sure.
